Week Ending 31 March 2023 (Week 39) The AWEX EMI was unchanged, in Australian currency and 7¢ lower (-0.8%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 39. 44,145 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 40,224 bales last sale. 10.6% of the offering was passed in after 4.5% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 39,483 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $57.8 million ($1,464 per bale), taking the season total to $1.869 billion ($1,560 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 1.5% greater than in 2021/22.
