AWIS WOOL MARKET REVIEW Week Ending 23 June 2023 (Week 51)
The AWEX EMI finished at 1139¢, 35¢ lower (-3.0%) in Australian currency and 28¢ lower (3.5%) in US currency at sales in Sydney and Melbourne in Week 51. 28,484 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 39,762 bales last sale. 15.1% of the offering was passed in after 10.5% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 24,171 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $32.6 million ($1,349 per bale), taking the season total to $2.389 billion ($1,521 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 0.4% less than in 2021/22
