Week Ending 26 May 2023 (Week 47) The AWEX EMI finished at 1214¢, 49¢ lower (-3.9%) in Australian currency and 39¢ lower (-4.6%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 47. 39,039 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 42,489 bales last sale. 27.3% of the offering was passed in after 7.7% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 28,375 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $36.9 million ($1,214 per bale), taking the season total to $2.223 billion ($1,310 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 0.4% less than in 2021/22.
