Week Ending 2 December 2022 (Week 22) The AWEX EMI finished at 1224¢, 32¢ lower (-2.5%) in Australian currency and 14¢ lower (-1.7%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 22. 37,347 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 31,822 bales last sale. 17.2% of the offering was passed in after 3.3% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 30,919 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $46.0 million ($1,488 per bale), taking the season total to $983.0 million ($1,588 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 0.2% greater than in 2021/22.
