Week Ending 18 November 2022 (Week 20) The AWEX EMI finished at 1232¢, 9¢ lower (-0.7%) in Australian currency and 24¢ higher (+3.0%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 20. 31,498 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 31,095 bales last sale. 11.9% of the offering was passed in after 7.6% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 27,765 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $42.8 million ($1,454 per bale), taking the season total to $892.0 million. The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 0.4%% less than in 2021/22. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 1,681 bales in Melbourne on Wednesday, of which 25.5% were passed in.
