Week Ending 7 October 2022 (Week 14) The AWEX EMI finished at 1235¢, 20¢ lower (-1.6%) in Australian currency and 4¢ lower (-0.5%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 14. 33,393 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 28,141 bales last sale. 12.3% of the offering was passed in after 8.1% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 29,271 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $46.3 million ($1,582 per bale), taking the season total to $608.1 million ($1,601 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 9.9% greater than in 2021/22. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 2,591 bales in Melbourne on Thursday, of which 25.8% were passed in.
