Week Ending 2 September 2022 (Week 09) The AWEX EMI finished at 1330¢, 12¢ lower (-0.9%) in Australian currency and 9¢ lower (-1.0%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. in Week 09. 35,534 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 37,431 bales last sale. 14.3% of the offering was passed in after 3.9% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 30,454 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $48.5 million ($1,593 per bale), taking the season total to $373.5 million ($1,601 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 12.4% greater than in 2020/21.
