The AWEX EMI finished at 1530¢, 25¢ lower (-1.6%) in Australian currency and 22¢ lower (-2.1%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 22.
37,804 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 35,719 bales last sale. 14.6% of the offering was passed in after 5.8% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $53.7 million ($1,664 per bale), taking the season total to $872.7 million ($1,742 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 18.2% less than in 2018/19.
