The AWEX EMI finished 21¢ higher (+1.2%) in Australian currency and 26¢ lower (-1.8%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
Although influenced by the fall in the US Exchange Rate, the EMI of 1846¢ in Australian currency was a new record high, 16¢ above the previous record of 1830¢.
42,621 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 39,605 bales last sale. 3.6% of the offering was passed in.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $81.6 million ($1,987 per bale), taking the season total to $2.8 billion, compared with $2.2 billion in the same period last year.
