Fox & Lillie Rural’s 2016/2017 scholarship recipients, Emma McCrae and Tom Roughead graduated from Longerenong College last week with 200 other students. It was the highest number of graduates the College has had in 20 years.
Emma excelled in her course and was awarded both the 2016 and 2017 dux of her course, graduated with a diploma in agribusiness management and agronomy.
Fox & Lillie Rural chose to support Longerenong College students because of the College’s grassroots and hands-on training and theory.
The scholarships are designed to encourage students wishing to undertake a career in agriculture, in particular wool with the funds going towards offsetting student fees as well as student accommodation, as many Longerenong students come from all over Australia.
Additional to that, the Fox & Lillie Rural scholarships require students to undertake work experience at the company in their second year to provide them with real life industry experience.
Application have now closed for Fox & Lillie Rural’s fifth and sixth Longerenong College scholarship for 2018/2019s students, and the company is looking forward to meeting its newest applicants.
